I also work on serials:
Some of what I write appears on this site–the blogging, for example–and some of it appears elsewhere. A few notable examples of the latter are noted below, in no particular order:
- Travels in Genre and Medievalism– I curate and contribute heavily to the Tales after Tolkien Society blog.
- “Friends, Addicts, Coworkers, Lend Me Your Ears…”- This post on LinkedIN discusses friendship in the workplace and among persons suffering addiction.
- “Why Hire Humanities Graduates?“- This post on LinkedIN argues in favor of hiring graduates in the humanities.
- “A View on Hiring Language and Literature Graduates, Specifically“- This post on LinkedIN expands on “Why Hire Humanities Graduates?” to argue that those who study language and literature make particularly good employees.
- “A View on Grammar through Weird Al’s ‘Word Crimes’“- This post on LinkedIN uses the titular song to interrogate emphasis on mechanical correctness in writing.
- “A View on Technical Writing“- This post on LinkedIN articulates two assignment sequences in technical writing classes I have taught.
- folgha.hubpages.com– I made several posts to HubPages. The information on them is still good.
- “My Revised Plan B”- This essay was adapted from a graduate school assignment and appears in How to Succeed in College: It’s Never Too Late! Part Two for Adult Learners.
- “Undisregard”- This poem appears in The View from Here: Poetry to Help You Soar!
- “By the Crawl-Space Door“- This poem was submitted to and accepted by One Image: One Hundred Voices, an online flash fiction/poetry/creative non-fiction writing project curated by Elizabeth S. Gunn.
